IS PLASTIC FILM RECYCLABLE?

The transparent plastic film is very present in our daily lives, it is common to find food wrapped in it, or even to protect tattoos. But there is a frequent question regarding this product: Is PVC plastic film recyclable?

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a material used for the production of various products, such as window profiles, water distribution and sanitation pipes, among others. These products have a long shelf life, whereas plastic film, as it is disposable, has a shorter shelf life, but it can and should be recycled!

Once recycled, PVC can be processed to produce a wide variety of “second generation” products without any harmful emissions to the environment or the worker.

The Alpfilm Protect plastic film, in addition to having antifungal and bactericidal properties, is made from a 100% recyclable material, which will return to your routine in the form of shoe soles, carpets, floors, hoses and various other products.

Despite the variable alternative, it is still not possible for PVC to return to your daily life in the form of a new plastic film, as the recycled product cannot have direct contact with food.

Although it is possible to recycle this product, the PVC recycling rate in Brazil is still small.

That's why we count on you on this mission!

Before throwing your plastic film in the trash, clean it with water and then dispose of it in the place indicated for plastic in the selective collection.
