National Environment Week: Come with Alpfilm and be part of this movement!

National Environment Week is the ideal time to bring the discussion about the negative impacts of human actions to our daily lives. As we know, some of the main environmental problems are the inadequate disposal of garbage, the lack of selective collection and recycling of materials, deforestation, waste of water, soil depletion, exaggerated consumption of natural resources and fossil fuels, among others.

Therefore, we reinforce that one of the main ways to do our part and contribute to environmental preservation is just one: recycling! Therefore, Alpfilm always emphasizes its concern for nature, remembering that our products are recyclable.

But, do you know what this process is like?

PVC, the raw material used in the manufacture of plastic film, can be transformed into shoe soles, rugs, floors, hoses and several other products.

In Brazil, mechanical recycling is predominant for the recovery of plastic materials, including PVC. In this technique, the product is crushed by a machine and, after being reprocessed, its useful life is increased and it becomes a new product.

There are also other ways of doing the recycling process: energy, when the material is transformed into fuel through incineration; or chemical, whose material goes through processes that involve several substances until it returns to being a base petrochemical material. Thus, it is possible to be used again in the production chain.

The recycling rate of this material in Brazil is still small, but growing. According to surveys commissioned by the PVC Institute in recent years, the percentage of recycling was around 18%.

To change these numbers, come with us and dispose of Alpfilm products correctly. In this way, you contribute to recycling and, consequently, to preservation. It's simple: when you throw Alpfilm stretch plastic film in the trash, clean it (if possible, with reuse water to avoid waste) and then deposit it in the place indicated for plastics in the selective collection. You can also request the service of cooperatives. To understand the model of your municipality and the closest collection point to you, check the city hall website.
